Digital students are today's students. Today students can talk, e-mail, do their homework, and send instant messages all at the same time. These tasks are very different from the multi-tasking of the previous generation. The ARCS Motivational Model is a system created by Keller to get the attention and interest of students. So that the students aren't just learning to pass the test but learning because they are enjoying it. ISTE supports the use of technology in the classroom to improve learning. ISTE National Education Technology Standards and Performance Indicators for Teachers are providing teachers with a certain framework that they can use to implement technology in not only teaching but also learning. Schools today very much emphasize the use of technology to students in school.

Since my last posting I have learned about the many different technology available to todays generation. I now know that I must get a full grasp on all sorts of technology before i will be ablt to become a teacher. Since when I become a teacher, students will probably know more about technology than myself and I need to be able to keep up with the technology of the world today.

In the next five years I plan on graduating from FSU. After doing so I will move back to my hometown in hopes of getting a teaching job there. I want to be an elementary teacher and I am hoping that there will be space for me to do so.

I have been using technology since I was a child. My father has always been really big into computers so he taught me how to do almost anything I needed to on the computer. Also, while I was in high school, I had to take a computer class as a requirement.

In this class I hope to learn skills that will help me become a better teacher. I want to be able to keep up with technology as I grow older. So I am hoping that this class will give me the skills to do so.

I was born and raised in New York for about 12 years. Then I moved down to Florida 7 years ago and now live in Jacksonville Florida. I love going to FSU!
